Blogging is an amazing means for individuals of any ability level to publish information on the internet. Now they are able to use this journalistic tool to publish news, ideas, announcements, and ponderings quickly and without technical constraints prohibiting them. This is even exemplified by the fact that many established columnists now publish their own blog. Research has also found that students write more effectively and with greater detail when they write to an authentic audience over the internet. One final benefit to blogging involves the very nature of it being a public discourse in that students are allowed the opportunity to participate in a public discourse, discussing their thoughts and opinions.
